Homework Start: Middle School (Grades 5-8)
Registered students will gather for a brief period of physical activity, a healthy snack, and then one hour of group homework assistance and supervision. Certified teachers will provide active assistance with homework and study as needed. This is not a tutoring session; rather it is an opportunity for your child to complete homework in the presence of and with the assistance from certified teachers.
The faculty of The Summit Country Day School believe in the importance of the parent/school connection and therefore expect that all parents will continue to review their child’s homework each evening as a way of staying connected with the child’s educational progress.

For the 3, 2, and 1 day/week plans, students may come to Homework Start on any day they like. They may not come at all one week but come every day the next week. There is no carryover of unused days beyond the quarter. If usage exceeds the “plan days” purchased, the registered student’s account will be charged the additional days at the same charge/day originally purchased.
If a child on the 4 Days/Week plan is absent from school on Homework Start days, we will credit the child’s account for the number of days the child has an all-day absence. We will use school records to confirm these absences.
