A Partnership with Parents
No one has a bigger impact on the life of a child than his or her parents. Whether cheering on a son or daughter during a sports event, discussing a child’s progress with a teacher, or volunteering in the classroom, the contributions of parents are seen as a vital and special part of a child’s educational experience at The Summit. We pride ourselves on providing parents with tools and resources that allow them to accompany their children on each step of their educational journey.
Staying connected
Keeping parents informed and up-to-date about every aspect of their child’s education is a top priority for our faculty and staff. Open houses and parent/teacher conferences allow parents to meet teachers and see classrooms; faculty members are always available for additional meetings and “progress reports” as needed. The Summit also uses technology to help keep parents connected. In addition to our online BlackBoard system, which allows parents to access lesson plans, calendars, and grades, many of our teachers maintain individual websites. The Summit Parents Association also provides a wealth of opportunities for those who want to become more involved in the daily life of the school through volunteering.
