Upper School Talent Show promises to be entertaining

Saturday’s Upper School Talent Show promises to be an entertaining two hours that will benefit a good cause -- the Farrell Ackley Scholarship Fund.

Some 22 acts have signed up to participate in the second annual fundraiser honoring the memory of Mr. Ackley (1941-2010), long-time teacher and coach at The Summit.

This year, students from all grade levels in the Upper School are performing. Acts will include Irish dancing, singing, guitar, drums, flamenco guitar, taekwondo and more. The event will be catered by senior Jen List and artwork from various students will be on display. Senior Peter Hoffman and junior Tommy Crowl will be emcees.

Performers include: Carolyn Boyce, Derrick Buschbacher, Myles Casanas, Inessa Chandra, Aaron Chow, Caroline Clark, Tino Delamerced, Michael Dorsey, Anna Erickson, Rachel Fladung, Nate Goodhart, Ryan Hall, Holden Hertzel, Mackenzie Horvath, Jesse Hughes, Morgan Hughes, Marina Jemail, Maddy Johns, Andrew Lyons, Maggie MacConnell, Gavin Majeski, Alex Marcellus, Caroline McKee, J McLean, Gabriela Nine, Sarah Oltman, Alex Ross, Mark Samaan, Sara Beth Stretcher, Michael Van Dorselaer, Ty Wahlbrink, Ben Wilson, Nathan Whitsett, Samantha Winzenread and SK Wiser.

Students can purchase tickets Wednesday-Friday during the lunch and non-students can buy them at the door. Admission is $5. A limited number of front row seats will be sold for $7 each. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund.
