Summit students created these decorations to celebrate Day of the Dead.

The Day of the Dead – “El Día de los Muertos” -- Nov. 1 and 2, is a Mexican celebration that dates back to the Aztecs. During the celebration, family and friends gathered to honor de memory of those who has died. Traditions include visits to cemeteries, building of private altars, Bread of the Dead (pan de muerto), decorations of sugar skulls, marigolds flowers and candles. At Summit, Spanish students created altars and masks, decorate sugar skulls, and honored famous Latinos who have died.
