D&I Room 

The Diversity and Inclusion Room is designed to connect students to a global perception and to create sensitivity to a diverse set of feelings and viewpoints that are formed by individual experiences. This family style classroom is a gathering place where our community will feel a sense of belonging and the value of all students will be affirmed.

Artifacts from around the world will be displayed in the D&I Room where ready-to-use lessons, based on the artifacts, will be available to teachers so they can bring groups of students to explore other cultures and their standpoint through artifacts, literature, videos, photography, poetry, and storytelling. The artifacts have been and will come from donations within our Summit family.

The D&I Team would like to invite the Summit Community to contribute to the room by donating artifacts that are ready to tell a story and that would enhance our global education. Artifacts can be art, books, sculptures, dolls or anything else that has a specific or important meaning in a culture. If you choose to contribute an artifact to our D&I room please contact a D&I coordinator from your division.
