March Madness Basketball for grades 1 and 2- boys and girls
March Madness is here! Here at The Summit!
Coach Christi Mack, with the help of former Xavier player Jason Love will bring the madness home. This mini-camp will be three days of professional basketball instruction for First and Second Grade Boys and Girls.

The Fourth Grade Robotics Club
All 4th grade students are invited to join The Robotics program that will meet in the 2nd floor of the Lower School in room 218 (Mrs. Almaguer’s room). The club members will meet on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday. A student will choose one of the three days and attend on that day for (9) sessions. Students will come from class at 3:15 and stay until 4:45. Parents will pick up their son or daughter in the LS Cafeteria after the meeting.

Program: We will use Lego Mindstorm’s robot building kits to learn about robots. Each student begins by following a plan in assembling, programming and debugging their robot. They will learn about touch and light sensors, motors and gears with much problem solving in the process. Once familiar with the ‘bot’, they can change it—make it better or build a new one. We usually end with a Sumo contest or another challenge. It is a fun time.

Introduction to Dance, Ballet, and Creative Movement: Session II- Spring 2011
After - School dance classes will begin the week of March 8. Tricia Sundbeck will once again be the dance instructor. For those who are unfamiliar, Tricia Sundbeck has an extensive and varied background in dance, including soloist for The Cincinnati Ballet Company, principle with the Sacramento Ballet company, and several other companies. She has trained with world famous teachers and choreographers. In addition, she is an experienced teacher in many cities including Cincinnati, Toledo, and Lexington, Ky. If you were unable to join in th efall, you are welcome to join now.
3 – 4 year olds 45 minute class- once per week on Tuesdays
5 – 6 year olds 55 minute class- once per week on Thursdays

Classes end May 24 and 26.

Join Andrew Ward, a B -level tournament chess player and instructor, for six weeks of Chess instruction. Andrew Ward is a graduate of Xavier University with a degree in math. He aspires to make chess a fun and enjoyable pastime for our students. Andrew brings 5 years of chess instruction experience to Summit as well as experience as a volunteer with the Queen City classic tournament. He has been playing chess tournaments in this area for 11 years. First and foremost, he will take great pride in helping students grow as people. For this reason, sportsmanship is stressed emphatically. It is understood that each child will be at various levels of chess knowledge. The class sizes will stay small and manageable and Andrew will be prepared to meet the needs of each student.

Let's play chess!- Chess Instruction – Grades K-8
Spring Break
Half-day or Full-day options available. Please read description for details of activities for each session. Mornings are mostly devoted to group learning, small
group coaching, specially designed learning exercises, and individual
interaction with our coaching staff. Afternoons are spent refining skills
and understanding in various kinds of formal and recreational play. We
use a variety of diagnostic methods to divide campers into study/play
groups based on their age, experience and skill level.
This is a perfect way to prepare for the National K-9 chess championships which will be held in Columbus, OH from 4/15-4/17.
Morning Chess Instruction- Mornings are mostly devoted to group learning, small
group coaching, specially designed learning exercises, and individual
interaction with our coaching staff.
