2009-2010 Mid-Season Update

 
The Silver Knights recorded their third dual win this past Friday January 15th against McNicholas High School with a score of 33-29.  Scoring wins for the Knights were Mark France with a 6-3 decision, Paul Slater with a 8-3 decision, Ben Wilson with a first period pin, and Ladon Laney with a 12-8 decision. 
 
The previous week, the Silver Knights recorded two conference victories when they beat out Lockland and CCD with a score of 33-29 and 30-18. 
 
As the post season nears, the Silver Knights find themselves working hard and continue to have successes both individually and team wise.  Individually the Knights are lead by Mark France who has a 10 and 3 record with 5 pins, Paul Slater who has a 10-6 record and Ladon Laney with a 6-9 record, but with all pins. 
 
The Middle School Silver Knights have continued in their successes as well.  This past Saturday January 16th, they traveled to Wilmington Middle School to wrestle in the Wilmington classic.  Placing for the Knights were Austin Northern who took 3rd, Billy France who took 3rd, Jesse Campbell who took 2nd, and winning in OT, Stuart Seltman who took first place outright.  The team, due to other contributions from David Delworth, Alex Debus, and Erik Wenzel, finished the best it has ever finished in any tournament.  They took 10th place out of 22 teams with 70 points.
 
Personal best records include Billy France at 12-1, Stuart Seltman at 11-1, David Delworth at 8-4, and Austin Northern at 8-4. 
 
They will look to complete their successful season when they host the Summit Super Dual this Saturday January 23rd and also when they travel to CCD next Saturday and wrestle in the MVC league tournament.
