FRESHMEN RULE AT CLASSIC SWIM MEET
Congratulations to freshmen Amanda Sequeira and Stewart Spanbauer who were both finalists on Jan. 14th and 15th at the 29th Annual Classic Swimming and Diving Meet. The Classic Meet is the largest high school invitational meet in the country. The meet included more than 3,300 athletes from more than 100 schools.
Amanda placed 6th in the 100 yard breaststroke. She also set a new school record in that event with a time of 1:07.86.
Stewart placed 10th in the diving and also set a new school record when he scored 345.55 points for his 11 dives.
Other participants in the meet were sophomore Abby Semler, and team captain MacKenzie Horvath.
Also, Congratulations to Amanda Sequeira who now holds school records in the following events:
200 yard freestyle 2:05.71
100 yard freestyle 1:00.50
100 yard backstroke 1:06.33
100 yard breaststroke 1:07.86
The Summit Swimming Team holds their practices at the Cincinnati Country Day Pool from 7:45 - 9:15 p.m. Mon. - Thurs.
Athletes who enjoy swimming but have never been on a competitive team are encouraged to try out for the swim team. It is not too late in the season to join! Stroke technique, drills, as well as endurance training are offered at all training sessions.
