Team Ends Season at OSU Meet
The Indoor Track Team wrapped up its 2011-2012 season by competing at The Ohio State University. It was the biggest squad ever assembled and we had some very strong performances. The ladies were led by Sheila Eustace who demonstrated our ability to do any and all track and field events by running, jumping and throwing for the Frozen Knights. Our 4 x 200 relay was also strong for the girls (Katie Ryan, Caroline Currie, Sheila Eustace, Morgan Cavanaugh) dropping time each time they raced. Esther Gault looks to be a stand out in the jumping events as she's jumped nearly a foot further than anyone from last year and our distance group was led by Lauren Bacho and Nora Lakes, who have put in some serious work this winter.
On the guys' side, Jay McLean and Jesse Hughes look to be strong leaders for us this year. Jay looks poised to capture a league title this spring in one if not both hurdle events and Jesse looks to be a huge factor in the spring relays for us this year, having already run a person best in indoor 400. Other sprinters of note include, Warren Hill who has had a standout winter and has potential to be a multiple event league champion. Robby Wellington has also been a nice additional running 400 - 1600 and seems to have a lot of range with regards to his racing ability. Other distance standouts include Chris Gallagher who has put in a lot of miles this winter and seems determined to put himself in the elite runners class. Tristan Domville and Dale Lakes have both had strong showings as well this winter with Domville even closing in on the sub 5:00 mile mark with his 5:03 mile at OSU. Charlie Michel has raced well, but due to his eligibility situation, he's run unattached and has made huge drops in both the 1600 and 3200 (4:31 and 9:32), which currently happens to be two of the fastest times in the state . All in all it's been a wonderful winter and we're gearing up for the outdoor season.
