2011 Year End Summary
The Summit Country Day Boys Varsity Golf team ended another successful season in 2011. For the fifth straight season the Silver Knights golfers qualified for the Southwest Ohio District Tournament. The defending District Champs finished in 4th place with a strong 338, but was 5 strokes away from a return to Columbus. In 2011 Summit captured the runner up spots in the Miami Valley Conference Championship standings, the Division III Walden Pond Sectional and the Middletown Christian Invitational tournament.
Individually Junior Captain Sean Steinman led the team with a nine hole average of 41.5. Senior Matt Kaegi led the team with 3 Medalist honors for best score in a Golf match and Chris Lee won MVC First Team Award by shooting a 179 in the MVC Championship. Senior Kenny Kerr, Junior Michael Dorsey and Freshman Mark Peterson rounded out the team that posted a 5-7 record in Dual/Tri Matches in 2011.
Summit Golf Takes Second
The Summit Country Day took second place on Saturday September 17th in the Middletown Christian Invitational played at Brown’s Run CC. The Silver Knights carded a 339, 10 strokes behind the hosts Middletown Christian and 21 strokes ahead of third place CHCA (360). The Summit will play in the 36 hole Miami Valley Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday.
