The 2012 Season

This year brings exciting changes for the Summit Boys Tennis team. The entire tennis center at the Summit Athletic Complex has been redesigned and reconstructed! This beautiful facility now provides the team with state-of-the-art tennis courts, as well as access to the indoor gymnasium.

The Summit Boys Tennis team competes in the Miami Valley Conference, one of the most competitive rivalries in the area. Cincinnati Country Day School, Seven Hills, and Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy all compete against Summit Country Day School. In addition, the team will play against other top schools, both Division I and Division II programs. This great season of competition prepares all the players to learn essential skills that help prepare them for the even greater challenges that await them in college.

The team is focused on learning and playing together as a team while improving individual skills. The goal is for each player to maximize his potential while contributing as a team player. Focusing on academics is essential, and the players learn to balance their classroom demands with their sports goals. Some players are even able to combine participating in more than one varsity sport during the spring season. The tennis program has a no-cut policy and every player will have an opportunity, based on his skill, experience, and commitment, to play at either the varsity or junior varsity level.

Joy Albi is returning for her second season as the varsity Boys Tennis head coach in 2012. Previously, she was the Summit Girls' tennis varsity head coach for six years, following coaching the junior varsity. Coach Albi is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Valley Tennis Association (OVTA) and is an incoming member of the Board of Directors for the USTA/Midwest Section, all part of the national governing body for tennis, the United States Tennis Association.  In 2006, Coach Albi was named the Cincinnati Enquirer's Division II Coach of the Year.

The tennis program at The Summit is committed to an excellent level of play and unwavering sportsmanship.
