Admission Process

Montessori Toddler/Preschool-Kindergarten

The Montessori School is a prime entry point for The Summit Country Day School and space is limited. The Summit has several different Montessori admission deadlines so we request that you follow the appropriate timeline below. A variety of Montessori School visitation opportunities are available throughout the year to help families become familiar with program options.

We have three requirements regarding age: Toddler candidates must be two years of age by September 1, of the year they will enter the program. Candidates for the three year- old program must be three years of age by the start of the school year of which they enter and be potty trained. Kindergarten candidates must be five years of age by September 30, of the year they will enter the program.

All candidates must submit a completed admission application

Montessori Toddler Program: New Family Candidates
Candidates must be 2 years old by September 1, of the year they will enter the program.
Montessori Parent Preview Days - October 26, November 9, 8:45 a.m.
We encourage parents to attend a Preview Day for an introduction of program options for children ages 2-6.

Montessori 3-6 Year Old Program: New Family Candidates, Rolling Admission
Candidates must be 3 years old by the start of the school year of which they enter and be potty trained.
Montessori Parent Preview Days - October 26, November 9, 8:45 a.m.
We encourage parents to attend a Preview Day for an introduction of program options for children ages 2-6.
Montessori applications to the three to six-year-old program are accepted on a rolling admission basis beginning December through May, space permitting.  Montessori candidates are required to participate in a Montessori Interview Session.  Please see scheduled Interview Session dates on last page of application.  All families must submit an application for admission one week prior to their scheduled Montessori Interview Session. Children should be 2.5 years old at time of interview.  Admission notification will be mailed one week after the interview.  Montessori families interested in applying for tuition assistance are required to submit the PFS by March 1, for priority consideration.  Tuition assistance applications are available at www.nais.org.

(Sibling and Legacy candidates are defined as children who have a sibling attending or who graduated from The Summit and/or children of alumni.)
