Summer Montessori
Returning this year is the opportunity for your child to continue to explore and expand his or her knowledge and experience with the Montessori materials and educational process through this summer offering. Summer Montessori class will be offered for any new or current (2010-11) Summit Montessori student, age 3-6 and a limited number of Montessori children from other schools (pending interview with Montessori faculty). This class will be taught by Summit Montessori teachers. The Montessori philosophy and materials will be those with which your child is familiar.
The lead teachers of this summer Montessori class will communicate with your child’s current lead teacher to determine where in the continuum your child is currently working so that there is an easy transition to the classroom. In the fall, when classes resume and your child returns to their regular program, your child’s progress will be communicated to his or her teacher.
The focus and purpose of this class is to provide a consistent framework for children in order to support the skills foundational to the Montessori Method of education. Whether you want your child to attend one week or all nine, he or she may be able to retain more of the skills and knowledge by being able to practice those skills through the summer.
Each week of Summer Montessori class will be limited to the first 24 students only.
Children desiring to stay for summer fun and activities may be enrolled for the afternoon session of “Summer at The Summit - Summer Camp”. Each week children will have fun with different activities, games - inside and out, field trips, crafts, books, fun facts, and friendships.
