Summer Montessori
(Current Summit Montessori students ages 3-6)
Returning this year is the opportunity for your child to continue to explore and expand their knowledge and experience with the Montessori materials and educational process through this summer offering. Summer Montessori class will be offered for any new or current (2009- 10) Summit Montessori student, age 3-6 and a limited number of Montessori children from other schools (pending interview with Montessori faculty). This class will be taught by Summit Montessori teachers. The Montessori philosophy and materials will be those with which your child is familiar.
The lead teachers of this summer Montessori class will communicate with your child’s current lead teacher to determine where in the continuum your child is currently working so that there is an easy transition to the classroom. This process will be repeated again in the fall when fall classes resume and your child returns to their regular school year teacher.
Whether you want your child to attend one week or all nine, they may be able to retain more of the skills and knowledge that they worked so hard to achieve through the school year by being able to practice those skills through the summer.
The focus of this class is to provide a consistent framework for children in order to support the skills foundational to the Montessori Method of education. Each week of Summer Montessori class will be limited to 24 students only. For summer fun and activities you may consider having your child stay for the afternoon session of “Summer at The Summit- Summer Camp”. Each week children will have fun with different activities, games-inside and out, field trips, crafts, books, fun facts, and friendships.
