Green Up Your Life

Green up your life and your space! Learn more about bringing houseplants into your home and how to keep them looking great! Mitch George from The Village Greenery in Yellow Springs, Ohio, will present this 3 hour workshop on indoor foliage plants. The hands-on seminar will cover common houseplant nomenclature, care instruction, soil and parasite information, lighting rules of thumb, and will include a do-it-yourself transplant of a 4-6 inch plant from its nursery planter into a decorative planter. The enrollment fee includes a choice of plant and planter. Participants leave with their creation. Plant and planter upgrades will be available as well for an additional fee.

Mud Wrestling! (aka Clay Creations for the Home)

You will learn clay handbuilding techniques to create decorative tiles and clay wall hangings. You will also create vases and lidded vessels on the pottery wheel.

Taekwondo and the Family

This class design is for the whole family in the study of martial arts. This week-long session will teach parents and children basic self-defense and will help develop focus, respect, and self-control. There will be martial arts games and drills and campers will break a board at the end of their session. A snack is provided.

Be Geek Not Chic

Does your child make fun of you for you lack of technical ability? Then it’s time to sit down to become a little more geekish. This class will cover the basics of e-mail, text messaging and the internet to social networking and blogging. Let’s learn to use technology to make your life simpler and more streamlined. Bring your own PDA or computer to class and learn to maximize its usefulness. This class is designed to ask all the questions about technology that you were embarrassed to ask. Come receive useful answers.

Salsa Dancing

Did you know Cincinnati is a hot bed for Salsa Dancing? Well, now you know. On just about any given night in Cincy you can find dance clubs serving up Salsa music for folks off all ages.
You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind, but why not join them in this fun-filled class?

Scrapbooking 101

Scrapbooking is a method for preserving personal and family history in the form of photographs, printed media, and memorabilia contained in decorated albums or scrapbooks. Learn to scrapbook in this one day course. You will walk away with your first album and the basic materials and knowledge to begin.
