The Summit: An Introduction

The mission of The Summit is to challenge every student, faculty, and staff member to share fully the gifts that have been given to them by God; to grow in grace and wisdom; to develop spiritually, academically, physically, socially, and artistically; and to become people of character who value and improve the world they inherit.

A place of ideas – and ideals

The Summit Country Day School is the region’s only independent Catholic school, and the only school in Cincinnati with a nationally recognized character education program. We live by the ideals expressed in our mission statement, and work every day to fulfill them for the benefit of our students.

Our personal approach to the total development of students encourages each of them to receive life as a gift and a challenge. We provide a well-rounded program of academics, athletics, visual and performing arts, community service, and religious studies. Throughout every aspect of this educational journey, The Summit encourages students to take responsibility for their work, attitude, and actions.

Our success in uniting around these cooperative, committed efforts has earned The Summit a reputation as one of the nation’s premier Catholic institutions. Thanks to that reputation, and our belief in the value of a safe, supportive, and diverse learning environment, we attract excellent students from a range of socioeconomic, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds, all of whom make an invaluable contribution to our community.
